Board

The Mountain Community School is governed by a Board that functions under the bylaws of The Henderson County Alliance for Education. Board members are either appointed to a two-year term or appointed by the Board for a one-year term. The Principal of the school serves as an ex-officio member of the Board. As an organization receiving state monies, we are obliged to comply with public meeting laws. The Board meets monthly and at other times at the discretion of the Board. Times of additional Board meetings will be posted along with agendas when available. Minutes of all open session meetings are available on this page. The Board’s responsibility is to guide the operations of the school in a manner consistent with its philosophy and vision, and to generate and approve policies that guide day to day activities at the school in a way that will allow that vision to become reality.
