Welcome from the Executive Director
Welcome to The Mountain Community School where learning is an adventure and community is our compass. As Executive Director, it is my privilege to serve a school that believes in the limitless potential of young people and the power of connection.
At TMCS, our purpose is to nurture active minds, active bodies, and active hearts. We believe students learn best when they are fully engaged intellectually, socially, and emotionally. That’s why our approach combines rigorous academics with experiential learning, a joyful environment, and meaningful relationships. From our youngest learners to our 8th graders, students are seen, heard, and celebrated for who they are and who they are becoming.
One of the ways we build belonging is through our House System, a school-wide structure that connects students across grades in mixed-age “Houses” led by staff and student leaders. These Houses are designed to foster leadership, school spirit, service, and a deep sense of community. They provide every student with a place to belong, contribute, and shine — ensuring that no one climbs the mountain alone.
We are proud of our unique culture which is rooted in kindness, curiosity, and a commitment to doing what’s best for kids. Whether you are a prospective family, a community partner, or a returning supporter, we’re glad you’re here. TMCS is a special place, and we invite you to explore, connect, and discover what makes our mountain so magical.
Together, we’re growing stronger, reaching higher, and creating a school experience that lasts a lifetime.
